  • Production Finisher

    **1st shift**


    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Finish product using lapping plates or automated equipment. Clean and prepare finished products for shipment as required. Monitor products on a continuous basis to ensure products are of prescribed quality and meet both 


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Follow established work procedures, and perform work assignments as required to meet all Starrett Tru-Stone safety, quality and production goals. 

    • Basic understanding of blueprints, work orders, or instructions to determine product specifications, requirements, and operational sequences.

    • Lift and position work-pieces, manually or with hoists, and secure them on tables or stands.

    • Set up, operate, or tend tools that remove material on work-pieces.

    • Assist in inspection or measurement of finished work-pieces to determine conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as levels, height gages, amps, Mikrokator, repeat reading gage, Pentaprism, lasers or autocollimators.

    • Maintain a safe, clean and orderly working environment.

    • Maintain all tools and ensure proper working order of inspection equipment per established procedures and requirements.

  • Engineering Specialist

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The manufacturing engineering specialist provides an important role of smoothing the production path by making sure technical details are in order up front.  The role also updates technical details of jobs in process as necessary to document improvements and so errors or omissions are not repeated on future jobs.

     

     ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Drawing review - Review new and repeat customer drawings to ensure all pertinent manufacturing details are called out.  This may include detailing, annotating, or redrawing customer parts for clarity and detail. Maintain Drawing file index. Provide CAD/CAM information for CNC programming when required. 

    • Routing review and maintenance – review process routings for new and repeat jobs to make sure all required steps are included.  This also includes verifying that the appropriate work centers are selected based on size and tolerance capabilities. 

    • BOM Review and maintenance – detail fasteners and other purchased parts to complete bills of materials for purchasing.  This task may include searching and selecting sources for special hardware items required.

    • Assist manufacturing with problem resolution of processes, drawing clarification and interpretation.

    • Assist with resolutions of quality issues as well as improvement initiatives.

    • Develop project plans as necessary for complicated projects.  Monitor progress on those plans to ensure successful, on-time completion to meet customer requirements.

    • Contact customers for clarification and issue resolution.

    • Interaction at all levels of the organization; from top level management, to shop floor personnel, to external contacts.        

    • Maintain and update Work Center Time Estimating, Work Center Methodology and general engineering procedures to ensure consistent methods and practices.

    • Work with quality to insure process integrity in relationship to verification of final product acceptance.

    • Problem solving skills are necessary.  Must possess good root-cause analysis skills and be able to implement corrective actions based on those findings.

  • Inventory Specialist/Technical Buyer

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Responsible for managing all aspects of inventory control while sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing technical materials, components, and equipment. This role ensures accurate stock levels, efficient procurement processes, and strong supplier relationships to support smooth operations and production needs. Manage inventory levels and pricing to achieve company financial goals. This role requires attention to detail, technical knowledge, consistent follow up, and being skilled at balancing cost, quality, and lead time.   


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Inventory Management


    • Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation.

    • Track, analyze, and forecast inventory needs based on production schedules, historical data, and demand trends.

    • Organize and optimize facility layout, labeling, and storage systems.

    • Monitor incoming and outgoing materials to ensure proper documentation and traceability.

    • Identify slow moving, obsolete, or excess inventory and recommend corrective actions.

    • Maintain inventory records in ERP/MRP systems with high accuracy.


    Technical Purchasing


    • Source and procure technical parts, materials, and equipment based on engineering specifications and operational requirements.

    • Evaluate suppliers for quality, reliability, pricing, and lead times.

    • Request and analyze quotes, negotiate pricing and terms, and issue purchase orders.

    • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure purchased items meet technical standards.

    • Track order status, expedite deliveries when needed, and resolve supply chain issues.

    • Maintain supplier relationships and develop new vendor partnerships as needed.


    Cross Functional Collaboration


    • Work closely with production teams to understand material needs and prevent shortages.

    • Coordinate with finance on budgeting, cost control, and invoice reconciliation.

    • Support engineering with technical documentation, part specifications, and alternative sourcing.

    • Communicate inventory and purchasing updates to GM.

    • Support Operational Excellence and other continuous improvement programs as needed. 

    • Support and comply with company policies including but not limited to safety, ethics, computer usage, and other processes and procedures.

  • Hand Polisher

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Prepare and perform operations to product such as setting inserts, hand polishing, inspecting product to print requirements, detailing work-pieces as required. Prepare and package finished products for shipment as required. Monitor products on a continuous basis to ensure products are of prescribed quality and meet both Customer and 


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

    • Follow established work procedures, and perform work assignments as required to meet all Starrett, Tru-Stone safety, quality and production goals. 

    • Study blueprints, work orders, and instructions to determine product specifications and requirements.

    • Lift and position work-pieces, manually or with hoists, and secure them on tables or stands.  Operate or tend tools that remove material on work-pieces.

    • Assist in the inspection and measurement of work-pieces to determine conformance to specifications.

    • Set inserts in work-pieces using best practices to ensure quality requirements are met.

    • Hand polish surfaces or components as required to meet specifications.

    • Assist in performing operations using manual equipment to maintain production requirements of the area.

    • Assist in preparing and packaging finished product as required to meet delivery schedule. 

    • Maintain current knowledge of the quality controls and stay current on literature and procedures pertaining to the 

    • Maintain a safe, clean and organized working environment.

    • Maintain all tools and inspection equipment per established procedures and requirements.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Market Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and growing new business opportunities while expanding relationships with existing customers and channel partners. This role serves as a key link between customers and the Starrett organization, helping manufacturers improve productivity, quality, and operational performance through the application of Starrett products and solutions.

    The Market Development Manager will work closely with end users, distributors, engineering teams, and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities, conduct customer assessments, support solution development, and drive revenue growth across key markets including Aerospace, Defense, Automotive, Industrial Manufacturing, Semi-conductor Manufacturing and others.


    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities while expanding relationships within existing customer accounts.

    • Develop and execute territory and account growth strategies to achieve sales and profitability objectives.

    • Build and maintain a robust pipeline through prospecting, customer engagement, distributor partnerships, referrals, and industry networking.

    • Conduct customer visits, assessments, and discovery meetings to understand operational challenges and identify opportunities for productivity, quality, and process improvements.

    • Deliver product demonstrations, technical presentations, and value-based solutions that address customer needs and support business growth.

  • Lab Technician I

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Finish product using lapping plates or automated equipment. Assemble, inspect, clean and prepare finished products for shipment as required.     • Basic understanding of blueprints, work orders, or instructions to determine product specifications, requirements, and operational sequences.

    • Understand and follow Tru-Stone and customer specifications and procedures used for the assembling of granite and mechanical components and the packaging of the product.

    • Assemble mechanical, electrical and pneumatic components, may include soldering and testing for performance and proper function of the assemblies.

    • Lift and position work-pieces, manually or with hoists, and secure them on tables or stands.

    • Set up, operate, or tend tools that remove material on work-pieces.

    • Observe operations to detect any problems, and assist in making necessary adjustments to correct problems.

    • Measure work-pieces and progress of work, using precision measuring devices.

    • Assist in inspection or measurement of finished work-pieces to determine conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as levels, height gages, amps, Mikrokator, repeat reading gage, Pentaprism, lasers or autocollimators.

    • Maintain a safe, clean and orderly working • Maintain all tools and ensure proper working order of inspection equipment per established procedures and requirements.
